The 31st Annual Meeting of the Japan Neuroscience Society (JNS), which will be held from July 9 through 11, 2008 in Tokyo, offers Travel Awards to the non-Japanese students or post-docs traveling from abroad who give presentation of high quality papers at the meeting. The funding for travel will be maximum 100,000 JPY per award, up to 40 awardees. Those from Asian and Oceania countries are particularly encouraged. After completion of the abstract submission, please send an email to the Congress Secretariat for Travel Award (neurosci2008@congre.co.jp) for applications of JNS membership and the Travel Award.

Please note that applications for the Travel Awards and Abstract should be submitted between December 10th (Mon), 2007 and February 4th (Mon), 2008. To apply for the JNS Travel Awards, please follow the next steps.

Step 1. Registration

• Register your participation to the meeting via the meeting Website.
• Registration ID and Password will be provided when your registration will be completed.

Step 2. Application

• Submit abstract of your paper for presentation via the meeting Website. Your Registration ID and Password will be required.
• If there is more than an author for the same abstract, only one will be considered for the same application.
• Following 3 documents are required to be completed by applicants;
  • Travel Awards Application Form (original signature and photograph required)
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Publication list
• Recommendation letters from a supervisor or a head of department and a referee must also be submitted to the Congress Secretariat. Those recommendation letters must be sent directly by a supervisor or a head of department and a referee. It is the applicants’ responsibility to ensure that this occurs.

Step 3. Submission

• Submission of the required documents must be made between December 10th (Mon), 2007 and February 4th (Mon), 2008. All documents should be submitted via Email (PDF) or FAX.
• The late receipt of any material will not be considered as application. Applications will be decided upon by March 31^st, 2008
• Original 3 documents and 2 recommendation letters must be sent to the Congress Secretariat via airmail in addition to Email or FAX.
• All documentation will remain the property of JNS and will not be returned. Applications who wish to have copies of any material should do so prior to sending them.

Presentation of paper as a presenting author is limited to members of JNS. If you are not a member of JNS, please apply for membership.

Payments will be made at the meeting, on receipt of original invoices (Fares/accommodation etc) and certification by email correspondence from the Supervisor/Head of Department of attendance.
